<p>PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality in addition to low cost and high manufacture yield by using a nonlinear resistance element for switching as the two- terminal element of an MIM and setting the W impurity density of its Metal or Insulator below a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The nonlinear resistance element for switching is the two- terminal element of the MIM(Metal Insulator Metal). Then the W impurity density of at least either of its Metal and Insulator is <=5ppm. Therefore, the leak current at the time of an Off voltage can be reduced greatly and the betavalue can be improved, so the contrast of an MIM panel can be improved greatly. Further, the liquid crystal device can be manufactured by exactly the same manufacture process as before, so a conventional device and conventional knowhow can be used as they are and an increase in the cost nor a decrease in the yield are not generated. Consequently, the high-performance MIM panel which has both the low cost and high manufacture yield can be obtained.</p> |
