Diamino- and dinitro-s-triazines intermediates for polymers and dyestuffs. Diamines of formula:- (where R1 is alkylene, cycloalkylene, arylene, alkarylene or aralkylene, or a diarylether or thioether, diarylmethane or diarylsulphone gp.; and R2 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, amino, arylamino, alkylamino, pyrrolidino, piperidino, phenyl, halogen, COOH or OH), and the corresp. nitro cpds. where R1 is a divalent aromatic gp. The diamines may be prepd. by slowly adding a dichloro-s-triazine to excess of suitable diamine with heating. They may be used in prodn. of polyimides, polyamides and polyureas, as intermediates for dyestuff and as epoxy curing agents. |
