PURPOSE: To complete the all processes within 60 seconds by incorporating a specified proportion of chloride into a silver halide emulsion layer of a photographic material, controlling the concn. of halides in a developing bath to a specified value or lower during use, and specifying the proportion of chloride in the halides in the developing bath. CONSTITUTION: The silver halide emulsion layer of the photographic material contains at least 80mol% chloride. The concn. of halides in the developing bath during use is controlled to <10<-2> mol/L and the chloride content of the halides in the developing bath is at least 80mol%. Moreover, the treating bath is always replenished in the continuous operation. The required time for each process is 8 to 12 seconds in the developing bath, 8 to 12 seconds in a bleach- fixing bath and each 5 to 12 seconds for third fixing baths. Thereby, the whole processes are completed within 60 seconds.
