Hard-setting flooring material - is dry quartz sand and polybutadiene binder mixed together and sealed in plastic bags at factory

A flooring material is produced from a mixt. of quartz sand and a liq. polymer binder, which mixt. sets hard when it has been applied. The quartz sand is dried beforehand and is mixed with the binder, pref. at the factory, and packed in air-tight containers; these are sealed off and are only opened for immediate use when the mix hardens off. The containers are pref. plastic bags; the binder is pref. highly unsatd. polybutadiene. The mix produced can be used as a hot type or a floating material. The flooring can be given a conventional wear-resistant covering. The containers used are preferably sealed under vacuum. The polybutadiene used as binder sets under the influence of oxygen. ADVANTAGE - The method gives the mixt. a storage life of about one year. The mix sets hard by the action of atmospheric oxygen. The system saves costs at site.
