<p>The method of roasting provides for taking-off the heat carrier from the beginning of the cooling zone at the ignition stage of the process and feeding it to the layer of the material to be treated at an angle of 90-180° to the direction of its movement in at least one of the directions, the thermal treatment within the range of 250 to 1400°C being carried out at a speed of 1.2 to 7.5 grades per second. An installation for implementing the method comprises a shaft (1) with lateral walls (3) and with longitudinal inlet (4) and outlet (5) walls provided with cavities (6) and ceilings (7). The ceilings (7) divide the shaft space into an ignition chamber (9), the furnace (8) itself and a cooler (10). The cavities (7) are divided by partitions (11) into chambers. The inlet chambers (9, 12, 13) of the furnace (8) are connected through gas passages (17) to the outlet chambers (14, 15, 16) of the cooler (10) and the outlet cavity (18) of the ignition chamber is oriented at an angle of 90-180° in relation to the latter and is connected to a fan (20).</p> |
