PURPOSE: To provide a cooling electric connector which can be easily handled by arranging a specific cooling connection member and a specific movable connection member and bringing thermal contact faces formed in the two connection members into mechanical contact, in which small thermal resistance is formed, mutually. CONSTITUTION: A cooling connection member 11 is constructed of a metallic member 11m comprising a hole 11b, into which a discharge lamp 12 is inserted, and a hole 11k, into which cooling water flowing in the inside of a tube 12r along the discharge lamp 12 is received. The discharge lamp 12 is held via a plate 14 by means of a sealing ring 11d functioning as a watertight seal, and the plate 14 is manufactured of electrically insulating and highly heat conductive material. For sufficiently cooling a terminal pin 12a and a contact push 15k, thermal contact faces 14f, 16f spread from the cooling connection member 11 to a movable connection member 15 are machined so as to be brought into mutual contact surely as a whole. In this way, an electric insertion connector, which can be easily assembled and operated and can be sufficiently cooled down, can be provided.
