PURPOSE:To obtain the emission property being stable in a long period even in high current density operation by forming a mixture and an electron emitter layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The topside of the bottom of a substrate 1 whose main ingredient consists of nickel is covered with a mixture layer 4 which contains scandium metallic substance in alkaline earth metallic oxides containing barium. The mixture layer 4 is covered with an electron emitter layer 5 which contains scandium metallic powder in alkaline earth oxides such as barium, etc. By the interposition of this scandium metallic powder, the substrate 1 and the substance layer 5 are maintained with the bonding interface stable, and the current density improves. |
