METHOD FOR CONVERTING AND KANA AND KANJI AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To uniquely specify and narrow down conversion candidates by constituting the KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI(Chinese character) converting method which selects conversion candidates for a KANJI and KANA mixed character string by referring to a speech input. CONSTITUTION: The KANA character string inputted to a conversion processing part 10 through a KANA character string input device 1 is converted into a KANJI and KANA mixed character string by a KANA-KANJI converting method which is commonly used by a KANA-KANJI conversion part 2, and then stored in a converted character string storage part 3. Information for selecting conversion candidates as KANJI parts of the converted KANJI and KANA mixed character string is inputted in voice to the conversion processing part 10 through a speech input device 7 separately from the input of a KANA character string, and its speech signal is converted by a speech recognition part 8 into a KANA character string or KANJI and KANA mixed character string, which is stored in a speech recognition part 9. The conversion processing part 10 converts the input signal from the KANA character input device 1 into a KANJI and KANA mixed character string and the input signal from the speech input device 7 is converted into a character string; and both the character strings are compared.
