Tensile loops (3) for plastic connecting rods in motor car engines are made of rovings, wound around two pins (4,5) and consisting of unidirectional prepregs of plastic fibres, impregnated with epoxy resin. The loop is stretched further by slinging it over a bottle-shaped element (20), placing the pins ona slider (31), and by applying a stretching force by the spring (32). Two contoured plates (35,36) are also pressed against the element (20) until the curing process is complete. ADVANTAGE - The manufacture of tensile loops is simple and their tensile strength is increased.
