A valve (2) has an activating mechanism (5) operably connected both to a bistable electric motor (6) with an electronic control (7) operating with coded signals and also to a manual control lever (9) and in one operating state of the motor the manual control (9) is allowed both to open and close the valve whereas in the other operating state the activating mechanism (5) is prevented from transmitting manual control movement while the valve is automatically closed. <IMAGE>
