摘要 |
<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal light valve having excellent high speediness by using photodiodes in liquid crystal driving parts and using a ferroelectric liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:The voltage determined by a low-voltage side electrode 5 and a high-voltage side electrode 6 is impressed in a reverse bias with respect to the photodiode 1 to the analog output part consisting of the series connection of the intensity of light is generated in the photodiode 1 when this part is irradiated with light. The current is stored in the capacitor 2. The response of this device is determined by the time when the capacitor is successively charged by the photocurrent of the photodiode and until the potential thereof exceeds the threshold value of the switching transistor of an inverter. This time is order of several microseconds and is, therefore, much shorter than the time of the conventional type. The liquid crystal light valve which is much higher in speed than the liquid crystal light valve of the conventional type is obtd. in this way if a ferroelectric liquid crystal is used for the liquid crystal 7.</p> |
