The vegetable slicer or grater consists of a stand (2) with a reciprocally moving frame (4), a flywheel (8), connecting rods (7), gear wheels (9,10), a vegetable feeder (6) and a handle (11). The stand has runners (3) on which the frame slides. Exchangeable slicing or grating blades are inserted into the frame. The flywheel on each side of the stand has a connecting rod attached to the frame. When turning the handle the toothed wheels (9,10) are intermeshing, setting into motion the connecting rods which move the frame.
