METHOD FOR APPLYING SOLUTIONHUMIDIFYING AND NON-HUMIDIFYING REGIONS TO SURFACE

PURPOSE: To realize a nonwettable surface excellent in solvent repellent characteristics by providing a layer of siloxane based material and a layer of organic fluorocompound on the entire surface area and then forming a solvent-wettable zone by removing the substance. CONSTITUTION: A solvent-wettable zone is provided on a first zone of a substrate and a first layer 4 of siloxane based material is provided on a second solvent-nonwettable zone while bonding to touching with the substrate. An upper layer 6 comprising an organic fluorocompound bonding to the first layer 4 and forming the solvent-nonwettable zone is provided while touching the first layer 4 at least over the second zone. Subsequently, the material is removed by etching or cleaning from the solvent-wettable surface above the first zone to expose the surface thus fabricating a product having a large number of solvent-nonwettable zones separated by solvent-wettable zones easily.
