摘要 PURPOSE:To quickly converge the spark delay quantity after knocking occurs during a transient time by returning the ignition timing to the basic spark advance quantity at a large temporal change rate after the spark delay control in the transient state that the engine load is increasing. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 1 sets the spark delay quantity in response to the knocking strength of an internal combustion engine 10 detected by a knocking detecting means 37, if knocking occurs, it controls an ignitor 48 so as to delay the ignition timing from the preset basic spark advance quantity by the advance delay quantity. When it detects the transient state that the load of the internal combustion engine 10 is increasing via signals of various sensors 20-31 after this spark delay control, it performs spark advance control at a large temporal change rate and returns the ignition timing to the basic spark advance quantity. Stable spark advance control with the basic spark advance quantity is performed during a stationary time, and the ignition timing can be quickly returned to the vicinity of the basic spark advance quantity after spark delay control during a transient time.
