Used up catalyser is either reduced by a gas reducing agent like oxygen (mixture of oxygen and carbon monoxide and a natural gas at a temperature of 950 - 1,473 K, or by coke with a calcium oxide admixture in temperatures of 1,423 - 1,573 K with the subsequent dissolving of the reduced cobalt in a solution of sulphuric, nitric, hydrochloric acid in temperatures of up to 370 K, or it is varnished in a ammonia solution of ammonium carbonate or ammonium sulphate to the solutions of the required concentration.
