Transport device for plate workpieces - has stop strip and grippers drawing workpiece against strip

The transport device is for plate-like workpieces of regular and/or variable format size. On one longitudinal side of the transport stretch (4), formed by the conveyor belts or chains (3), it has a stop strip (3) and at least one gripper (6) which is movable in and against the conveyor direction 'A' and across the conveyor direction 'A'. It draws a workpiece (1) against the stop strip (5) and guides the workpiece at the stop strip up to the upper pressure (7) of the processing station (2). There are pref. two alternately operating grippers which cross each other in an against the conveyor direction and across the conveyor direction. USE - For the rational supply and alignment of workpieces.
