PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition which contains a specific diphenyl ether and 3-isothiazolone and can control algae by use of the active ingredient at an extremely lowered level. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) A compound of formula I (X<1> and X<2> are each H, a halogen, a trihalomethyl, cyano, a 1-4C alkyl; Z is H, a halogen, cyano, carboxy, an alkylthio, a carboalkoxy, a carboxyalkyl, an alkoxy, an alkyl, amino; p is 1-2n+1; m is 0-2n where m+p=2n) where it has no Z substituent of unsubstituted or substituted amino and R<2> O (R<2> is H, an ester linking to an acid group in an inorganic or organic hydroxy acid)}, for example, oxyfluorfen of formula II and (B) 3-isothiazolone of formula III (Y is a 1-18C alkyl, a 5-8C cycloalkyl, an aryl; R and R<1> is H, halo, a 1-4 alkyl). The effective dose of this composition is 0.1-10ppm in the cooling tower water, 1ppm-1% in coating or impregnant composition, and 1-10% in the marine composition. |
