A reversible power transmission having input and output main shafts (2, 4) comprises a first gear wheel (6) nonrotatably connected with one of the two main shafts, a second gear wheel (7) disposed on an intermediate shaft (8) having also axially spaced-apart third and fourth gear wheels (12, 13), of which the latter (13) is larger than the former (12), and being rotatably mounted in relation to a cover (9) which is rotatable about the same geometrical centre axis as are the two main shafts (2, 4). The third gear wheel (12) engages a fifth gear wheel (14) which is nonrotatably connected with the second main shaft (4). The fourth gear wheel (13) engages a sixth gear wheel (15) which is disposed on a brakable sleeve (16) mounted on the outside of the second main shaft (4), the input main shaft (2) being drivable at all times in one and the same direction of rotation, while the output shaft (4) is drivable in one of two opposite directions of rotation by braking of either the cover (9) or the sleeve (16). If neither the cover nor the sleeve is braked, the transmision will be disengaged and no power transmitted at all. |
