Repair of chloride-weakened reinforced concrete (I) comprises removing the steel reinforcing rods and coating with (a) a reactive/epoxy resin mixt. and (b) a repair coating of opt. reinforced concrete or polymer-modified cement concrete. The worst-affected steel rods are not re-used, but are replaced with new ones. USE/ADVANTAGE - The problem of chloride migration from old to new rods is mitigated. The process is useful for bridge and tunnel repair or in the chemical industry.
