Saturated paraffin hydrocarbons having 4 or more carbon atoms are converted to olefins having fewer carbon atoms by contacting a mixture of 40 to 95 wt % paraffin hydrocarbons having 4 or more carbon atoms and 5 to 60 wt % olefins having 4 or more carbon atoms with solid zeolite catalyst such as ZSM-5 at conditions effective to form propylene and the separation of light olefins from the reaction mixture.
