A contact lens for use in connection with transscleral cyclophotocoagulation. The lens has a planar entry surface (12) and a frustoconically-shaped exit surface (26) that contacts the sclera (27) surrounding the cornea. The central portion of the lens is opaque (32) to prevent stray laser light from entering the optical portion of the eye during laser application.
