PURPOSE:To obtain a bright liquid crystal display device with good visibility by allowing a user to put on and use a display-side polarizing plate between a couple of polarizing plates directly. CONSTITUTION:A rear polarizing plate 3 and a reflecting plate 4 are stuck on a liquid crystal cell 1 and a front polarizing plate 2 is arranged separately from the liquid crystal cell 1 so that the user puts on and uses the front polarizing plate 2. Thus, when the front polarizing plate 2 is separated from the liquid crystal 1, light which is made incident on the liquid crystal cell 1 is not linearly polarized light. Further, the incident light does not pass through the front polarizing plate 2, so the light is not absorbed by the front polarizing plate 2. Consequently, the incident light is made incident directly on a liquid crystal panel 1, so the shadow of a display pattern is eliminated and the brightness of the background increases, so the liquid crystal display device which has the superior visibility is obtained. |
