摘要 |
PURPOSE:To improve flexibility and to increase critical current density due to a thermal treatment of a long size fiber produced by drawing a molten glass base material obtained by cooling a molten mixture of starting powdery raw materials. CONSTITUTION:A powdery mixture of starting materials capable of forming a superconducting oxide, e.g. Bi2O3, SrCO3 and CaCO3 is melted by heating at a temp. between the m.p. of the mixture and the m.p. +400 deg.C and the molten mixture is cooled to obtain a glass base material. This base material is heated and drawn into a fiber and this fiber is heat-treated by holding at the crystal nucleus formation temp. for >=1hr and further holding at the crystal growth temp. for >=20hr. The heat-treated fiber may be clad with a metal and heat- treated under pressure as required. |
