The assembly has a square axle (1) at both ends of which are a series of small diameter transverse holes. Cleft sockets (3) fit over the axle by sliding but without play. They have a circular outside section profile and a square interior section profile, and fit onto the axle by pins (7) piercing transverse holes (6) and fitting into one of the holes (2) in the square section axle. The door handles (4) have circular recesses to take the sockets and are fixed firmly to the latter by pressure screws (5).
