The wall-cladding component comprises a rectangular plate of hard-foam insulating material. The plate (1) contains intersecting lengthwise and transverse ventilation passages (3,4) open at both ends, while a thin rectangular weather-proof covering panel, typically of sheet-metal, is secured to the rear side. Profiled connecting portions (7,8) are formed at two opposite sides of the panel, engaging positively in mating ones on adjacent panels. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be laid to form a waterproof cover, no subsequent work being necessary, while providing sufficient rear ventilation.
