The object of the invention is to provide a method for the centreless grinding of the ends of rotationally symmetric workpieces as well as a device for carrying out this method, by means of which in particular the machining of workpieces of small diameter is possible with high accuracy. The method according to the invention is characterised in that the workpieces, transferred to a transport means in an unbroken sequence and lined up as a virtually continuous band, are guided with the ends to be machined over the grinding body as a result of the movement of the transport means on workpieces rolling on a counterstay means.
