PURPOSE: To obtain blood vessel prosthesis material to enable inoculation of cells having a radial extensibility by structuring threads in woven form and connecting crossing threads so that at least different fibers are fixedly coupled at a certain intersection. CONSTITUTION: The weaving of a prosthesis material 1 consists of a thread 2 composed of fiber strings or minute fiber 3. Highly elastically woven 24 pieces of minute fibers or fiber strings compose 32 pieces of plastic thread which are woven on a flat cylindrical rod having a diameter of 8mm, then fitted on a second rod with a smaller diameter when the woven thread reaches the required length. Then, it is immersed in re-distilled boiling water for a short time to shrink. Subsequently, it is washed in a 5% water solution of a detergent on the market which the cells can tolerate, in fresh water rinsed and dried. After being enlarged in an accelerating agent, it is immersed in a polyurethane solution containing 5% dimethylformamide to get crossing points bonded, then dried in the air. After being wrapped with a steam permeating foil, it is vacuum processed at 50 deg.C. As a result, a blood vessel prosthesis material is obtained so as to enable inoculation of cells having a radial extensibility close to blood vessels. |
