PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent flame-retardance and suitable as a coating material for electric wire, cable, etc., without lowering the mechanical properties and deteriorating the freeze-resistance, etc., of the base polymer by compounding an olefinic polymer with specific amounts of a polyimide and red phosphorus. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of an olefinic polymer (e.g. polyethylene or polypropylene) with (B) 0.1-80 pts.wt. of a polyimide and (C) 0.5-20 pts.wt. of red phosphorus. |
