PURPOSE:To industrially advantageously obtain alpha-chloropropionanilide with simple process by adding specific lower alcohol in reaction of aniline and alpha- chloropropionyl chloride in alkaline aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:In a reaction of aniline and alpha-chloropropionyl chloride in an alkaline aqueous solution, 1-4C lower alcohol (preferably an amount about 0.2-5wt. times of aniline) is added to the system and reacted to afford alpha- chloropropionanilide. By said method, complicated operations such as washing with water and solution separating are unnecessary. Furthermore, said method is industrially advantageous as aggregation and solidification of resultant sub stance, inducing problem of equipment in the reaction process or de-solvent process, is not generalized. |
