PURPOSE:To provide the subject composition containing a specific amount of a specific electrolyte ion in combination with a polydextrose. exhibiting excellent cleaning effect, administrable without difficulty, free from generation of bubbles or generating quickly disappearing bubbles if any and absolutely free from undesirable effect on diagnosis. CONSTITUTION:The objective enteric canal cleaning composition to be used in the treatment of constipation, pretreatment for intestinal infusion roentogenologic examination, examination with colon scope, colon operation, etc., contains 30-180g (especially 50-10g) of a polydextrose, 35-150mEq (especially 40-135mEq) of Na<+>, 5-20mEq (especially 7-13mEq) of K<+>, 20-50mEq (especially 24-46mEq) of Cl<->, 10-30mEq (especially 14-26mEq) of HCO and 0-100mEq (especially 0-85mEq) of SO per 1l of the composition. The compounds to be used as the sources of the above electrolytes are preferable sodium sulfate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. |
