The title compds. of formula (I) are prepd. by reacting N- (2hydroxyphenyl)-N'-phenylthiourea with superoxide i.e. Na2O, K2O in THF and acetonitrile. Where R1, R2 and R3 is alkyl, H or nitro, and is same or not. Thus, add K2O (296mg, 4mmol) to soln. of N(2- hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-N'-phenyl thiourea (258mg, 1mmol)/THF and stir for 2hr, add water 3ml to rxn. mixt., extract with CHCl3 and recrystg. in 1:3 CHCl3/n-hexane to give 2-anilino-5-methyl benzo oxazole (199mg, 89%).
