Device for wedging by retractable elastic support, constituted by a support plate 1 on which is articulated a lever arm 3, comprising a wedging stop-piece 4 at its end opposite to its point of articulation 2 between an active wedging position and a retracted position delimited by support blocks 5, 6 solidly attached to the support plate 1. The lever arm 3 is also connected to the support plate 1 by a double-acting elastic element 7 working in torsion and flexion to ensure elastic locking of the said lever arm 3 in the active wedging position and, by the knuckle joint effect, in the retracted position. Application to the immobilisation in a packaging container of elements of manufactured products, particularly sheet-metal parts for automobile construction, for the purpose of handling them during manufacture. <IMAGE>
