PURPOSE:To prepare a coating compsn. which gives a coating film excellent in weatherability, hardness, stain resistance, physical properties, and water resistance by compounding a specific alkyl-etherified spiroguanamine resin with a specific acrylic resin. CONSTITUTION:5-60 pts.wt. (solid base) alkyl-etherified spiroguanamine resin obtd. by mixing, heating and condensing spiroguanamine, HCHO, and a 3C or lower alcohol and having on an average four or more combined HCHO molecules per spiroguanamine nucleus and on an average two or more alkyl ether groups derived from alkyl etherification by a 3C or lower alcohol, and 95-60 pts.wt. (solid base) acrylic resin having a hydroxyl value of 10-150, an acid value or lower, and a number-average MW of 1000-50000 (e.g., Hitaloid 2439 A make by Hitachi Chemical Co.,Ltd.) are compounded in a total quantity of the two resins of 100 pts.wt. (solid base). |
