The invention relates to a device for mounting a turning tool in the turret head of a lathe, consisting of a sleeve which has on the outside gripping surfaces for the clamping in the turret head and is provided with clamping means for the clamping of the turning tool. The object of the invention is to secure the turning tool in the turret head in such a way that vibrations cannot develop. The invention consists in the fact that the sleeve to be inserted into the turret head of the lathe is provided with an internal taper, that an externally tapered collet is inserted as clamping means into the sleeve, and that the sleeve has at the front end an external thread for a cap nut which bears with its inner flange against the end face of the collet.
