PURPOSE:To enhance stability under a high temp. and high humidity condition by forming an optical recording medium by providing a recording layer containing one or more kind of a naphtholactam compound represented by a specific general formula on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:One or more kind of a compound selected from naphtholactam compounds represented by formulae I, II(wherein R1 is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an ally group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, R2 and R3 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent org. residue, R4 to R19 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a monovalent org. residue, l is an integer of 1 to 4, (m) is an integer of 1 or 2, (n) is an integer of 0 or 1 and X<-> is an anion residue) is dissolved or dispersed in an org. solvent to prepare a solution. This solution is applied to a substrate 1 and dried to form a recording layer 2 to prepare an optical recording medium. |
