Door position detector for safe or vault - incorporates vibration sensor to detect disabling attempts

The detector consists of two small boxes (5,19) linked by a telescopic operating arm (13,14). One box (5) is fitted to the safe or vault door (2), while the other box (19) is fitted to the door jamb. As the door is opened, the vertical extension (16) of the arm rotates moving an actuating pin (22) away from a microswitch operating button (23) and providing a signal to indicate that the door is open. The present detector also incorporates a vibration detector, moutned in the box (5) on the door. If an attempt is made to tamper with the system, e.g. by sawing or drilling, the vibration releases an alarm. @(9pp dwg.No.1/3)@.
