Automatic device for guidance of a self-propelled vehicle 22 along the wall 28 of a tunnel 12, comprising a parapet 90 formed on either side of the rolling surface 16 of the vehicle, means for the bearing of the vehicle on the parapet 90, and safety arms 108 extending above the parapet 90 so as to bear on the opposite face of this parapet.
