PURPOSE:To provide the title method capable of performing transfer printing within a short time, enhancing the safety of operation and productivity, adaptable even to a resin low in heat resistance and further obtaining transfer printed matter having good light fastness by using a specific dye as a sublimable dye. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable dye to be used is represented by formula (wherein R is hydrogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an allyl group or a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group, X is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and a phenyl group A may have a substituent). This dye is good in a transfer property, diffusibility and light fastness. A transfer sheet to be used is obtained by printing or applying ink prepared using the sublimable dye represented by the formula I on a sheet like base material by a usual printing or coating method in an arbitrary monochromatic or multicolor pattern. Next, the pattern like ink layer printed on the transfer sheet is transferred to and printed on a material to be transferred under heating using the transfer sheet. |
