A folding machine (1) for shaping folding-box blanks (2) into folding-box tubes includes a frame in which guiding and drive means (4, 6) for the folding-box blanks (2) are arranged and mounted, with the aid of which the folding-box blanks (2) can be moved through the machine (1). At least two continuous, flexible folding belts (13, 14) extend alongside the guiding means (4, 6) and run round two mutually spaced axes (17, 18, 21, 22). The folding belts (13, 14) are used to bend the side flaps (28, 29) of the folding-box blank (2) around the folding lines (31) towards the central piece (27) situated between said flaps. To achieve results without the known pressure-application means, without a crooked folding being produced by the folding belts (13, 14) which run obliquely with respect to the side flaps (28, 29), the rear of each folding belt (13, 14) is provided with a saw-tooth-like profile (19) which compensates the oblique course between the folding belts (13, 14) of the side flaps (28, 29). <IMAGE> |
