The present invention concerns a method for enriching for, and optionally, clonally isolating, gene sequences which contain an insertion or which correspond to deletion. The method is capable of such enrichment and isolation even when the insertion or deletion has not been genetically characterized, or is incapable of causing a discernible deficiency.
