The element according to the invention comprises a three-dimensional frame 1 consisting of a lattice network folded in accordion fashion in such a way as to present two alternate series of tracks which are oblique with respect to one another, each lattice situated inside a track delimiting a relatively flat volume V comprising two parallel faces and a peripheral transverse edge. A coating 4 having a homogeneous compression ratio covers this frame 1 by filling the volumes V. The invention applies in particular to the production of coverings or claddings for buildings. <IMAGE>
