PURPOSE:To realize a high-performance permanent magnet material which is provided with a high coercive force and a high energy product by a method wherein a specific amount of at least one kind out of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and W is contained, as an additive element, in a rare-earth-, iron- and boron-based substance. CONSTITUTION:A rare-earth- and iron-based permanent magnet is constituted of the following: 80 to 95atomic% of Fe; 1 to less than 10atomic% of a rare- earth element (R) containing at least one kind out of Nd and Pr (however, 80% or higher of Nd + Pr are contained as R); 0.5 to 10atomic% of B; 0.05 to 10atomic% of at least one element out of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and W. Thereby, a high coercive force and a high energy product can be achieved; the rare-erath element which is scarce as resources is used only a little; low-cost iron can be used much. |
