In the case of computer-controlled drafting machines, for machining plastic sheets, use has been made, up until now, of cutting tools, of which the cutting side has to be guided in the cutting direction. The novel cutting device is intended to avoid this disadvantage and be of a lighter and simpler construction. Located in the mount (2) adapted to normal writing elements is a cutting stylus (3) which, corresponding to the desired cutting depth (S), projects, by means of its conical tip (3b), beyond that end of the mount bearing on the sheet to be cut. That end of the mount (2) bearing on the sheet has an annular bearing surface, of which the external diameter is considerably smaller than the external diameter (D) of the mount (2). <IMAGE>
