The invention provides a fluorine-type resin composition comprising: a) a fluorine-type resin having (i) a hydrolyzable group attached directly to silicon atom and/or silanol group and (ii) an epoxy group in the molecule, or b) a mixture of a component (I) having a hydrolyzable group attached directly to a silicon atom and/or a silanol group and a component (II) having an epoxy group, at least one of the components (I) and (II) being a fluorine-type resin. The resin composition may contain a metal chelate compound; and can be used as a coating composition e.g. for motor vehicles.
