<p>PURPOSE:To verify whether or not a gap-in signal is outputted at a correct position on a tape in a single tape device by sending a gap-out signal on a pseudo basis, and unidirectionally storing the position on the tape during running. CONSTITUTION:A device consists of a tape 1, a file reel 2, a machine reel 3, a file reel tachometer 4, a machine reel tachometer 5, reel motors 6 and 7, driving circuits 8 and 9, etc. In such a case, the tape device sends the gap-out signal on the pseudo basis in place of a host device, and unidirectionally stores the position on the tape during the running. Consequently the gap-in signal can be sent. Further for the position stored by the pseudo gap-out signal, the time lag between the time when the gap-in signal is sent is measured. Thus whether or not the gap-in signal is outputted at the correct position on the tape can be verified, and the host device is made unnecessary.</p> |
