摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent contact with an obstacle at the rear of a car body by installing a starting time control means, which checks a fact that rear wheels are steered in the antiphase direction with front wheels at vehicle starting, and a calculating means which calculates a moving distance of the vehicle whose rear part comes into a maximum drawing state on the basis of each steering angle of the front wheels at time of starting, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a fact that a vehicle is in a starting state is detected by a starting operation detecting means 34, any steering of rear wheels 3L, 3R is prohibited by a starting time control means 35, keeping these rear wheels in the neutral position. Consequently, at time of starting of the vehicle, any overhang of a body rear part due to such a possibility that these rear wheels 3L, 3R might be steered in the antiphase direction to front wheels 1L, 1R is prevented from occurring. Then, a moving distance of the vehicle whose rear part comes into a maximum overhanging state at its starting is calculated in a calculating means 38, and this moving distance is compared with an actual travel distance detected at a travel distance detecting means 37 by a release means 39, and at a time when the travel distance becomes larger than the moving distance, a control state in these rear wheels 3L, 3R by a control means 35 is released.
