摘要 PURPOSE:To secure the detection of a rotary angular velocity while simplifying the constitution by composing the vibration gyro of a vibration body with polygonal transverse section and piezoelectric elements provided on at least three flanks of the vibration body, and using some of the elements for driving and others for detection. CONSTITUTION:The vibration body 12 in the shape of a regular triangular prism which constitutes the driving gyro 10 is formed of material which vibrates mechanically in general such as elinver, iron-nickel alloy, quartz, glass, crystal, and ceramic. The piezoelectric elements 14a, 14b, and 14c are provided on the center parts of the three flanks of the vibration body 12, and the element 14a consists of electrodes 18a and 20a between which a piezoelectric layer 16a made of, for example, ceramic is sandwiched. Other elements 14b and 14c have similar structure, the one-side electrodes 18a - 18c of those elements are adhered to the vibration body 12 by using a conductive adhesive, and support members 22 - 24 made of metallic wires are provided nearby node points of the vibration body 12. Thus, the gyro is constituted and when, for example, the element 14a is used for driving, others are used for detection; and a driving signal is applied to the element 14a and sine waves are outputted from other elements.
