An antimicrobial composition comprising (1) a first ingredient selected from the group consisting of penicillin series compounds, cephalosporin series compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and (2) a second ingredient selected from the group consisting of carbapenem series compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. This composition provides an effective antimicrobial activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections.
