A contrivance for high-temperature compacting of diamond-base or cubic boron nitride-base composite material incorporates a pair of dies contained wherein is a container which is provided with a graphite sleeve located in which is a blank in composite material and with means of applying current. The outward wall of said sleeve and the wall of the container form an annular pace contained wherein is a sleeve in a metal-base material.
