The invention relates to the envelope which specifically constitutes a banknote holder. It is described in the form of two variants. In the first, it consists of a flat bag which is open on one side when a flap, which can be folded down, is open, the latter being connected longitudinally to the envelope via a hinge zone of smaller thickness. The flap is held closed by the action of two rectilinear grooves and of two strips which interpenetrate reciprocally, the strips being placed on the inner face of the flap whilst the others are on the inner face of the envelope, moulding being possible on a mould with three plates, with no mould slide, because it is performed with the envelope open, at an angle at least equal to 225 degrees with respect to the position which it has when it is closed. The variant is that which results from the flat unfolding (development) of the first embodiment. <IMAGE>
